Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current life problems.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
DBT is an evidenced based method of treatment developed in the 1980’s. Client’s learn skills in four areas:
1 - Mindfulness - noticing the present moment without judgement.
2 - Distress Tolerance - increasing tolerance of negative emotion, rather than escaping it.
3 - Emotional Regulation - manage and change the intense emotions that cause a problem in life.
4 - Interpersonal Effectiveness - techniques that allow a person to engage in relationships with other in a healthy way.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is an eight phase treatment utilized to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, phobias, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, complicated grief, addiction, and performance anxiety. Clients typically report an improvement in symptoms after one session.
